ST. PAUL'S LITTLE PEOPLE PRESCHOOL

St. Paul’s Little People operates as a mission of St. Paul’s Church. The preschool began in 2000 and has been serving students in the community in our 2 year old class, 3 year old class and Pre-K class. We are currently registering students for the 2024-25 school year as well as our 3 weeks of Summer Camp!

Entrance Requirements

All children are eligible for enrollment at Little People Preschool, as long as requirements of age and health are met.  We do not discriminate based on race or creed.

 

2 Year Old Class  - The 2 year old class meets Tuesday and Thursday from 9am - 12pm for children who are 2 years of age by September 30th. 

 

3 Year Old Class -  The 3 year old class meets Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am - 12pm for children who are 3 years of age by September 30th. 

 

Pre-Kindergarten - The Pre-K class meets Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9am - 1:30 pm. These students must be at least 4 years of age by September 30th. 

 

Early Drop-Off - we offer early drop off at 8:15am for students who need it.

 

Afternoon Care - we offer afternoon care for our 2 and 3 year old classes until 1:30 or 5:30pm. We offer afternoon care for our Pre-K class until 5:30pm.

Information Required Prior to the Beginning of School

 

Physical Examination

  • Each child is required to have a physical examination completed before entering into school. Each child must submit parts I, II, and III of the school entrance medical form on file at the school before they begin attending.

The parent is required to complete Part I and the physician is required to fill out Part II as well as provide a record of immunizations. After enrolling, an updated physical is required each year. A child must be current with all age appropriate immunizations unless otherwise recommended by a physician. A physician’s note will be necessary for any exemptions. These forms must be renewed every 12 months. 

 

Birth Certificate

  • Each child must have a copy of their certified birth certificate on file at preschool. Failure to present proof of birth within the required time may result in names being reported to designated authorities.

 

Child Sitter Information

  • Virginia state law requires that parents inform the school of the names and addresses (city, state) of current and previous sitters who have kept or are keeping your child on a regular basis.

Summer Camp

We are offering three weeks of Summer Camp in 2024 

Camp is Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm.

Students between the ages of 3 and 5 are able to attend. 

June 24 - 27 Summertime Fun

July 8 - 11 Jungle Safari

July 22 - 25 Backyard Olympics

Purpose

​

The purpose of St. Paul’s Little People Preschool is to offer St. Paul’s Church family and the Staunton community a 2, 3, and 4 year old preschool program. St. Paul’s Preschool program will provide developmentally appropriate learning opportunities through a variety of hands on experiences in which the children will explore their world around them.

Objectives

 

St. Paul’s general objectives are:

1.   Provide a warm and loving Christian learning environment that will encourage a desire to learn.

2.   Provide a developmentally appropriate program to allow and encourage your child’s cognitive, emotional, language, motor, and social development.

3.   To encourage, support, and include parents in this exciting stage of your child’s development.
