Meet Our Staff

The commitment of the staff and leadership at St. Paul's Church is the heart of what makes us a living, thriving church. They are dedicated to serving the community and strengthening the impact of our church.

Pastor

Ryan Oswald

Pastor Ryan was born and raised in Washington DC. He studied Sociology and Anthropology at Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2001. After graduation, Ryan found employment in the fields of Law Enforcement, Private Security, and Private Investigations.

After a powerful conversion and call in 2004, Ryan became a member of Herndon United Methodist Church in Northern Virginia and entered seminary. He graduated from The Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C. with a Master of Divinity in 2012. In 2018, Ryan was ordained as an elder by Bishop Sharma Lewis in the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Ryan loves Jesus and sharing the gospel. He knows all about being the one sheep who was lost and then found by the Lord. He is always on the lookout for other lost sheep to help bring back to God’s sheepfold.

Ryan, his wife, and six children reside in Waynesboro.

Lay Minister of Visitation

Wayne Corbin

Wayne Corbin was born and raised in Augusta County, where he and his wife Megan still reside. He has worked as a carpenter for the past 35 years and retired as a Staff Sergeant from the US National Guard after 25 years of service.  Wayne is the father of 2 boys, Phinehas, age 11, and Jonah, age 8, who work hard at keeping him young and active. Wayne has a strong love for the Lord and is excited that he will be able to serve as the Lay Minister of Visitation for St. Paul's.

Sharon Jones

Sharon Jones was previously a stay-at-home mother. She is a graduate of Bridgewater College with a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Economics. Sharon enjoys coffee, art, and spending time outdoors. She lives in Stuarts Draft with her husband and three boys.

Director of Children's Ministry

Chris Lyle

Chris was a 5th grade teacher at Riverheads Elementary School for 8 years before she began working as an after school tutor so she could stay home with her children during the day. She graduated from VA Tech with a degree in Family & Childhood Development and is certified in Virginia to teach PreK – 5th grades. Chris has been a Co- Director at St. Paul’s Little People Preschool since 2007. She began serving as the Coordinator of Children’s Ministries in 2015. Chris and her husband Bryan have three children. She enjoys reading and crafts.

Director of Music Ministry

Jordan Davidson

Jordan and his family are coming to us from Northern Virginia. Jordan grew up in Northern New York and graduated from the Crane School of Music at the State University of New York at Potsdam. He trained in choral conducting and vocal performance. He completed his graduate and post-graduate work at James Madison University, earning his Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance, Pedagogy, and Literature in 2017. As a professional singer, Jordan has performed solo around the country with choruses and orchestras, including, Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre in Logan, Utah, Springfield Symphony Orchestra in Springfield, Missouri, and the Oratorio Society of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. For the past four years, Jordan was artistic director and conductor of the Rappahannock Choral Society. Jordan has also been on faculty as an instructor at JMU, UVA, and the University of Mary Washington. Currently, Jordan teaches elementary music at the BEST school in Virginia, Spotswood Elementary… GO KNIGHTS! His wife, Elizabeth, is a science teacher and their children, Emmeline and Elias attend Harrisonburg City Public Schools. They enjoy music, hiking, gardening, and running a small rabbitry of holland lop rabbits. 

Treasurer

Missy Huffer

Missy has been working in public accounting since 1989. She has been a member of St. Paul’s since 2000 and has been employed as financial secretary at St. Paul’s since 2012 and she became treasurer in 2013. Missy enjoys music, photography, art, running, hiking, outdoors and crafts. She and her husband have two children.

Custodian

Tammy Tyree

Tammy has been working with St. Paul's since 2011. She has two sons, Brandon and Jeremy; an adopted daughter, Megan; and four grandchildren, Braylon, Sidney, Mia, and Maddie. She enjoys going camping and to the beach.

Facilities Manager

Tim Austin

Tim is a lifelong Methodist, the son of a Methodist minister, and has been a member of St. Paul’s since 2012.  He has degrees in accounting and business administration, and recently retired after 40 years of service with a major grocery retailer. The last 27 years, he worked in the position of Human Resources Investigator. Prior to that, he ran successful stores and was responsible for the on-going maintenance of those facilities.
Tim enjoys the role of handyman and when he is not doing maintenance and construction at his home or on his hobby farm, he has been known to build doll furniture, props, and sets.
Tim lives in Augusta County with his wife, Pam, and his grandsons, Keaton and Michael.  Tim loves to sing and you may just hear him belting out a tune as he works around the church!
